Fall has officially arrived and has brought lots of warm colors, foliage, yummy foods, and pumpkins! In the spirit of the season, I wanted to share ways to decorate for Autumn using macrame. From fireplace garland to tassel necklaces, there are endless ways to incorporate fiber art into your home and wardrobe. (P.S. All pictures are linked to my Etsy shop so that you can add some macrame to your home!) Home DecorMake your abode a little more cozy with macrame garland! You can drape it across the mantle of a fireplace, across a dorm wall, or even hang it from your front door! I love having it in my living room, it makes for an easy transformation from plain to ~boho~. It is also super easy to take down and put up- making it great for using in a variety of spaces. And unlike cheap, paper garland, macrame garland can be used for years to come! For an extra Autumnal touch, you can attach leaves, gourds, or clothespins with pictures between each banner. Macrame pumpkin covers elevate your pumpkin style and add a cozy, fall vibe to your home decor. It can be quite difficult to find the perfect image to carve into your pumpkin, and carved pumpkins rot much faster because they are exposed to the elements. With that in mind, these knotted accent pieces provide the perfect, non-invasive decor option. Also, macrame covers are reusable, add a charming touch, and can be used on real or faux pumpkins! Fall FashionOther than your home, macrame is a fashionable addition to wardrobes and jewelry boxes. One of the easiest ways to incorporate macrame into your fall fashion routine is to tie a headband around the base of your favorite hat. Not only does this add a bohemian touch, but it provides a point of interest and texture to a closet staple. Don't forget that you can also use it as a headband! Classic. Warm. Minimalistic. Three words that describe this season's fashion trends and my macrame tassel necklaces. They feature a black or brown leather cord, wooden beads, and recycled macrame cord. I never want my supplies to go to waste, so I made sure to construct these necklaces from leftover cord from larger projects! Afterall, recycling is ~stylish AF~. Tote bags are a must for a fall. From farmers markets and apple picking to grabbing a coffee at Starbucks, tote bags are extremely useful and stylish. I bought this corduroy tote from Aeropostale and upped the style factor with a chunky tassel. You can add this piece to pretty much any bag and it immediately softens your look. All in all, fall is such a wonderful season filled with fantastic food, activities, and fashion. Being able to incorporate macrame into fall is a great way to add bohemian flair and create a bold statement. I look forward to seeing how other people use macrame in their autumn wardrobes and homes. Being able to connect with new people is always the best part of creating new artistic pieces!
